I spend a lot of time on Pinterest. I've gotten all kinds of great ideas from the various Pinterest boards that I follow. Ideas on what to wear, meals to make, organization ideas, and of course, craft ideas. If I actually created as many projects as I've pinned to my scrappin love board ( on csbuechs), I probably wouldn't be able to move around in my house. :)
I've had a picture frame, that I bought at Ikea, for quite some time. I knew I wanted to do something with it, but I wasn't 100% sure what. I tried painting it. I was going to try distressing it. But, the finish on the frame made it so the paint would just wipe off.
I put the frame into the Goodwill bag. But, before I donated the frame, I found an idea on Pinterest. It wasn't exactly a frame, but I liked the idea. Here's the project that "pinspired" me.
I have a lot of school projects that I saved from my son. And, with him going off to college next year, I thought, why not decoupage the writing, from one of his class assignments, to the frame. That would make it more personal, and I could add pictures of him in the frame. So that's what I did. Here's the end result. I love that it has my son's writing on it. It really makes it special.

Life is Tough and so Are You
Kid President has some great advice. I've seen various videos with this young man in, and they definitely make me stop and think.
Recently I watched "20 Things We Should Say More Often." There were quite a few great reminders in this video. But, my favorites was #2...Life is tough and so are you. Meaning some days you're the bug and some days you are the windshield. Don't let the tough things break you down. Use them to make change and try something different or new.
Thanks Kid President for reminding us that there are so many little things we can do to make life better--for everyone.

Spring Break 2014 Home Project
Spring Break is as good a time as any to do a home project. A few years ago we changed windows in our master bathroom. There are some items around the windows that need to be fixed, so it seemed time to make a change in color. So above is the before picture. At the end of Spring Break, I hope to have a refreshed bathroom in a lovely blue color. Stay tuned.

Technique Challenges
One of my favorite scrapbook companies is Club Scrap. They are a monthly kit company, located in my home state of Wisconsin, and they create these kits all on their own. Each one is unique in its own way. Check them out!
During May, the Club Scrap team provided a daily challenge to celebrate National Scrapbooking Month. Although I didn't share my challenge items, I did try a variety of techniques throughout the month. I would take 5 minutes before work or before going to bed to try some technique. It might be painting with baby wipes, painting with Gesso, using stencils or heat embossing. It was so fun.
You should try some of the techniques. Check out the Club Scrap Daily Challenges from May. For now, here are a couple of my techniques.

Getting Ideas
I like to get inspiration from other crafters, and Hetty Sanders is one person who inspires me. I met Hetty through Club Scrap. I think her scrapbook pages and cards are amazing. Well tonight I was looking for some inspiration for a card, and I went to Hetty's Blog and found these cards that she made.
So I found my stamps and worked away, and I came up with this card.
I think it turned out pretty good. Thanks Hetty, for the great ideas.

I'm starting today
Happy Birthday to me!
I've been wanting to start a blog for a long time, but I wasn't sure what I would put here. I've decided it can be whatever I want it to be. I can share my craft accomplishments, words of wisdom, travel memories...whatever I want. And, since today is my birthday, it seemed like the right time to get started. A welcome to my corner of the blog universe.
